Non-public policies

Not all universities publish their leave policies. HR representatives of these universities have been contacted. In some cases I have been provided with the relevant policies, which I have re-hosted here. In other cases, I have quoted the relevant correspondence that I have received.

Bristol

Bristol’s full policy used to be public, but has been moved into a staff-only intranet page. I am grateful to have had confirmation on the 16th December 2021 from a representative of Bristol’s HR operation that:

[…] for shared parental leave entitlements we use the same pay model as our maternity pay so you can refer back to the Maternity leave and pay section on the table. Please note, this entitlement also includes the statutory 2 weeks maternity leave.

This pay model is publicly available.

Sheffield

Sheffield’s policies were also public in the past too, but have been moved behind a staff login. I am trying to obtain the policies or get confirmation of them.

Warwick

The University of Warwick’s partner leave policies are hidden in a staff-only zone.

A representative of Warwick’s HR operation was very kindly able to confirm for me on the 3rd of December 2021 that:

  • We offer 2 weeks full pay if the employee meets the usual eligibility for paternity leave.
  • You are correct in that we only offer shared parental pay at statutory pay but if both employees work for the University, they can opt to share the enhanced maternity pay if the partner meets the eligibility requirements (Either 20 weeks full pay and 19 weeks statutory or 10 weeks full pay, 20 weeks half pay and 9 weeks statutory pay).
